why another blog?

so i ask myself the question, does the ether world need another blog?  the answer-probably not, why should i take up valuable byte space posting my sometimes random thoughts?  particularly since the subject of my blog will probably have limited general interest.  i mean after all, what i want to write on are my experiences as an asian american minister in the suburbs of irvine ca.  how many people can relate to that?  i'm sure more people want to hear about what's happening in the exciting inner city ministries, where drug pushers, prostitutes and junkies have dramatic salvation stories.  or maybe more interest would be found in ministries to third world countries, where aids stricken, communist oppressed, corrupt government cheated people groups are found.

but the suburbs?  what's so interesting about what type of grass you have on your front lawn, or when you should put up your christmas lights, or what school your kids are going to, or what time your soccer practices are run?

i guess that's the idea of a blog, the internet (i.e. the reading public) determines the interest level.  if nobody gives a hoot about what i'm writing about, so be it.  i may stop, or i may continue.  one thought is i would like to generate dialog about the topic, whether it be how to help people grow healthy spiritually focused families, or how to balance the time demands of a two income family, or how can we minister to those in different income brackets even in our own communities, because more and more (especially these days) the perfect "planned" community turns out to be neither.   we in the burbs are just as broken and hurting and harassed as anyone else.  and isn't that why jesus came? to minister to the hurting, hopeless, and harassed?

anyways, here goes!
